Harry Hairy

Meet Harry Hairy.  Jenssen brought this friend home from preschool a month or two back.  Sure, he is about 10 cents worth of grass seed, a Styrofoam cup, sticker eyes, and a fuzz ball nose, but dang it if he isn't cute!

He has been sitting behind the sink in the kitchen, growing away.  After the pony tail holder that my mom put in his hair was no longer doing the job, we decided to let Jenssen give him a hair cut.

I kept telling myself it was a good idea....

Jenssen, Mr. Three years going on sixteen, demanded to do everything himself.  It is sometimes hard for me to not just jump in and do the simple little things, like take the band out of the "hair".  It's not really a major step in the whole ordeal, and he doesn't know how to do it anyway, right?  Many times a day I have to stop myself with these boys and remember they may not know how to do it now, but they sure can learn it.  Patience, humility,  and humor are always on my list of much wanted and needed graces.

Of course, another shirtless Pekas boy was never far from the action.  Yea, those are my kids, no shirts, with scissors...

Now, there are no pictures of the actual cutting.  As I'm sure you can imagine, supervision was needed during that crucial time, so the camera had to go down.  But it was quick and painless (for everyone) and quickly the boys were admiring Jenssen's work. (And of course Izzy had joined the picture.)

Ah, a catchy name, some seeds, a cup, pom balls, and Jenssen's imagination.  Summer isn't going to get any better than this!

Looking good Harry Hairy!  Well, looking good for having your hair stylist be a 3 year old.

  1. Hairy has his own personality, you need to write his story!
